Steuben Brewing Company in Hammondsport just launched its very own version of an Irish Red Ale, and according to the head brewer Chad Zimar, it's just as good as a taste of Ireland.

This one pours a light ruddy red color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like toasted malt, light tea-like hops, and some caramel.

This is pretty solid, but a little light, admittedly. It's got the sort of crisp maltiness you'd want out of the style, with not too much sweetness. There's very little hop flavor - just a kind of tea-like or peppery bitterness.

This is super drinkable, and very clean, with a pretty light (and kind of watery) body.

This is admittedly not exactly my favorite style, but it's done well enough.
