The short-lived khaki head started out at 1” and left no lacing on this Pretentious dimple mug. Amber/copper (SRM 11-14) and opaque with clear, bright copper highlights. Kinda dull.
The aroma is sweet with toasted malt. Toffee and wheat bread are obvious. While there are no flaws, there is also nothing special here.
The toasted malt is a very pleasant flavor, against light bitterness and balanced sweetness that are almost faint. Hops show, yet are so mild as to be indescript. Warmth amplifies the toasted malt. The finish is long mild and dominated by malt. Actually, with warmth, it has a burnt marshmallow flavor, with no added sweetness. That’s interesting.
The body is light to medium, with a watery texture. The alcohol is absent, while the carbonation is light and prickly.
This is a good drinking beer, as it goes down easily. It will probably be a good choice at the ball park or casual conversation with friends and nachos.

Can pour into a tulip glass.
Dark gold copper color with a modest loose bubbly white head. Caramel, licorice, malt biscuit notes. Moderate to light body and carbonation.

On tap at Steuben Brewing in Hammondsport, NY.
This one pours a golden amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like rich melanoidin bready sweetness, caramel, light spicy hops, and toffee.
They absolutely nailed this one. The malt character is pretty perfect - bready, lightly sweet, caramelly, and light toffee. It’s got that malt richness that so many strive for, but not many reach. There’s a light and supportive hop character.
This is creamy and crisp, with a fantastic drinkability.
It’s not surprising at all that this brewery would nail this beer. They are consistently great at lagers.
