A thin, dense, yellowish-white head forms above a murky orange beer. From the pour, this appears to be dense with a syrupy body. Fine lace coats a Spieglau IIPA glass. It very much resembles a glass of dull orange juice.
Fresh citrus bounds from the glass, comprised primarily of orange followed by mango. Pine needles are pronounced, though clearly form a backdrop.
The flavor is less rich than it appeared, or as the aroma had suggested. Consumed within a few days of purchase, the orange juice flavor is clear. Bitterness is a little higher than expected. Mango notes are a little under ripe. The finish is mild, features pine flavors, and lingers.
This IPA has a full body, though it is far from syrupy. The texture is similar to jersey cotton, and the alcohol is as expected. Light carbonation lifts the beer, though it is less fresh than expected. Still it is highly enjoyable after a morning of yardwork.
This is a decent NEIPA. A few years ago I would have rated it higher, however, with so many top notch examples, one's opinion shifts. This said, it is very enjoyable and a pleasant surprise from a lesser known, local brewery. It will pair well with a summer afternoon or casual conversation. Thank you, Dave, for this trade.

On tap at Steuben Brewing Company in Hammondsport, NY.
This one pours a very hazy golden and milky yellow color, with a big fluffy head, and lots of lacing.
This one smells like honey, dried apricots, pine, mango, and grapefruit.
This is really tasty stuff, one of the better all NY ingredient beers I've ever had. I get dried stone fruit and some honey sweetness, with a floral and piney bitterness, along with big notes of grapefruit and tangerine.
This is creamy and light bodied, with a great drinkability, and a smooth finish.
Steuben continues to get better and better - this was highly enjoyable.
