an excellent hoppy pale ale overall. i had never really heard of these guys before, but city beer people in the know have a lot of good things to say about the stuff they are making, so i was excited to get a chance to have a pint of this one. its nice beer, simple and light, not nearly as heavy as a lot of the hazy pales in these parts have become, and i appreciate the lighter take on it, abv included. its a session ipa type for beer drinkers, dry hopped and juicy, nothing really new here though, a familiar hop profile and enough grain to have some body but stay out of the way in the flavor, balanced in that new school way, but its the freshness and the layering of hop flavor that impress me most here and make this stand out. fresh peaches and sliced citrus, a crystalline element to it, pure lupulin glory, somehow delicate at the same time that its very bold. it sure seems like these guys know what theyre doing, this is delicious and very drinkable with a nice soft mouthfeel. ill look for more of their beers when i am in the city next...
