Hazy, yellow color. Thin, white head. Grape must, wood, and grain in a funky aroma. Moderately tart taste with astringent finish. An interesting saison.

500ml bottle shipped to me by 3s. This more recent batch was purchased around Christmas 2020.
Tasty Bev. pint glass @home.
Dusty gold, sudsy pour.
Soapy, floral, saline, rindy, minerally, gummy nose; Sidra.
Tastes better than it smells. Low carbonation, lots of white grape that tastes more like apricot. Faint floral funk without the foulness. Only a slight sour acidity. Chalky like an American wheat. Salt. Mild, but lingering grape skin & Aspirin bitterness. Moderate booziness.
Not a gem, but easy to drink.

Bottle from the brewery in Brooklyn. Pours an almost hazy straw yellow gold with a finger of bubbly white head, smell is citrus hard candy, orange zest, musty green grapes and white wine, doughy grassy funk, hints of orange blossom and apricot, taste follows the nose with grape juice and apple cider up front, musty grape skin, funky grass, hints of citrusy dough/cake and rose, feel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. A floral and soft white wine forward treat.

This would be really really good if it wasn't so sweet.

Picked this bad boy up when it was released at the brewery in the spring and (finally!) got around to it tonight, after months of anticipation. Without a doubt, this was one of the most unique beers I had this year between the taste and sound of this.
Yes, you heard me right!
The pour to this was relatively typical for a brew of this style - hazy straw with lots of light coming in around the edges but wham! I never heard any beer that reminded me of retreating waves as it settled into my glass but sure enough, that's what this did to me. Boisterous and lively, the head came and went in an instant as the bubbles exploded once they reached the surface of the beer. Lots of grape, chardonnay, apple, and oak in the nose with plenty of the latter two in the taste as well. Crisp, brisk, and woody, this was almost like a wine in a glass given how dry the mouthfeel was and present the Brett yeast was in giving this life. The wood stayed throughout my session and the lively but slightly understated carbonation kept this from getting too heavy at the same time.
I had no idea how much alcohol was in this but there was a slight warming effect once I finished off this 750 ml bottle. This was so impressive because of how different it was and how well everything came together in the end - more of a Sour Ale than a Saison / Farmhouse Ale, I probably should have poured this out into a wine glass. Props to Threes for taking a chance with this and passing with flying colors!
