I had this on tap at St. Gambrinus Beer Shoppe after tasting it and Hill Farmstead Susan. I'll just stick my neck out there and say this kicks Susan's ass.
This beer was delicious. Less abrasive bitterness than Susan, that was for sure. But forget comparisons, this beer was just plain good.
Tons of tropical notes that I enjoyed, but it also had a late entrance of lemon and floral bouquet that were stellar. It's a double IPA but hardly drank like one, although there was enough sweetness and body to convince me this wasn't your humdrum IPA.
Threes maybe onto something as I have yet to be less than in awe by their brews.

L - cloudy orange, head fades fast, some lacing
S - stone fruits, new plastic, dank, bready malt in the background
T - Vermont styled, hop candy, pear, bitterness fades quickly on the finish
F - a little thin for the style, medium to high carbonation, dry on the finish
O - I hope LIC makes more beers like this one. NYC is up and coming!
