On-draught @ Threes. $8 per 16 FL is pour.
Hazy orange body. Frothy white cap. Head lasts 5 minutes.
Balanced taste, with tropical mosaic lending some subtle blueberry. Hints of yogurty tang. Orange citrus. Guava. Pale malts keep it balanced. Yeasty esters are definitely present, playing to the strengths of an unfiltered IPA.
Good depth of flavour. Nice flavour intensity.
Smooth, wet, soft, medium-bodied, well-carbonated. Complements the taste well.
Overall, it's simplistic for an IPA but boasts impressive balance and showcases its hops well. Mouthfeel is well-defined and it's highly drinkable. Why Threes isn't as well acclaimed by IPA lovers as its NYC competitors is beyond me; this is better fare than that typically put out by Interboro, Other Half, and Grimm in my book. Well worth trying, though not world class fare.
