Oak-Aged Festbier
Slightly lighter in color and body than Hereafter, our new Oktoberfest Lager Far Between is a Festbier that gets the foudre treatment. After aging in oak, notes of figs, crumpets, and a tannic dryness come through. Perfectly balanced, with just enough malt character and bitterness from German Hallertau Mittlefruh hops. Try it alongside Hereafter and compare the taste of two Lagers inspired by Oktoberfest and the changing of the seasons.

Clear, amber color. Nice, white head. Caramel malt, grass, a hint of citrus, and wood in the aroma. Malty taste and decent hoppy bitterness. An astringent finish with notes of wood.

Sampling a lightly chilled 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. Picked up the beer at the Threes location in Moynihan Station. date stamp is illegible.
The beer pours a bright clear golden color with several active streams of fine carbonation rising to the surface. There is a 1 cm bleached white dense creamy head. this foam fades to a sturdy surface covering that sticks around until my mug is empty.
Aroma is pretty clean and light with hints of some honey and crackery malt mixing with a little grassy hop note.
First sip reveals a light body with crisp texture and very fine fairly gentle carbonation. Beer drinks very easy which suits the style.
Flavor is again some crackery malt and lightly sweetened with honey. This gives way to a little grassy hop note that is only bitter enough to balance the sweetness.
there is never any hint of the 5.6% abv and the beer drinks very easy.
I dont really get any wood character oak aging.
Nice drinkable beer. glad to have tried this one

Pretty solid festbier, this foeder made it interesting and very drinkable for me. Recommendation from Hops Hill to go here and have this one, and it was good.

Tall can ...."canned 8/23/22" stamped on the bottom.
Pour is near clear, light light amber loose cap and leaves some low rings and strands of lacing.
On the sniff its just some light malty notes and perhaps a whiff of sawdust.
On the lighter side flavor wise, light malts, some vanilla and again just the faintest of "Oak aged " notes. Easy drinking cuz its on the light side, all around..not an overly impressive a take on the style.

People are calling this a märzen, but it is not a märzen. It’s a festbier. It’s good as a festbier but it is nothing like a märzen.
Light head, light color, oaky smell, moderately carbonated

Can from the brewery in Brooklyn. Pours an almost clear light amber with a finger of creamy and rocky white head that sticks around nice lacing, smell is fresh brown bread dinner rolls, biscuity dark malts, hints if caramel and honey and slight grassiness, taste is sweet doughy brown bread, hints of dark malts and molasses cookies, sour grassy bitterness on the finish, feel is medium bodied, medium carbonation and carbonic bite. Nice bread and dark malts, fairly assertive bitterness on the finish.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass and lots of specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of oak and toasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and starts off with flavors of toasted malts and bits of associated sweetness but these are balanced off with notes of oak and a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this to be an interesting take on a festbier as the taste had a nice balance between flavors of toasted malts and oak.

16 oz can into a pilsner glass.
Pours a lightly hazy orange amber color with 2 solid fingers of fluffy white head. The head leaves a few cobwebs of lacing before settling into a blanket of foam. Bubbles!
The aroma brings notes of roasted malts, caramel, brown bread, and spicy hops.
The flavor is sweet and malty, bringing notes of caramel, sweet dough, and roasted grains. There's a finish of spicy, floral hops.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and smooth, with a subtle effervescence.
Overall, this is definitely a solid Oktoberfest lager, but not one that really stands out. The can calls this an "Oak Aged Festbier" and I'm not picking up any oak or foeder notes. There's a faint earthy character but overall it doesn't do anything unique, at least for my palate. Still, it's a good Marzen. And a good Marzen is always worth drinking.

Yet another version of this style this year - this was definitely the year I tried the most unique versions of this style, personally.
This one pours a light orange color, mostly clear, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells malty, with lightly sweet caramel, some breadiness, and a touch of floral hops.
I really loved these oak-aged lagers more and more breweries are coming up with - it just seems to lend itself to a much more rich beer. There's a floral and spicy hop character, with a rich caramelly and dark bready maltiness to it. It all melds together really well, and makes this is a well-rounded and complete beer.
This is a creamy and smooth pour, with a crisp finish, and a soft carbonation level. It's quite drinkable.
Threes are some of the best lagerinos in the state. They should not be ignored in that arena.

Can from the source, $16+ for a 4 pack.
Big fluffy off white head that stays one finger thick. Clearish light Amber orange. Looks great but could be slightly more clear.
Nose is wonderful. Strong sweet maltiness with a touch of light caramel and some Woody hops resembling sawdust. Or is it the foeder?
Flavor isn't quite as good but very smooth. Malty but not sweet, a touch of biscuit. Carb is medium high so it's a really soft feel. A bit thin in that it's pretty dry. Lingering light caramel.
Really good overall. One of my favorite Oktoberfest this year.
