16oz canned on 03/16/2020 poured into a Spiegelau Lager glass. Sample from the brewery.
Pours bright and golden with a two-finger white head that laces down the glass. Hoppy nose with floral, herbal, rind, and a distinct oaky-wood aroma. First sip is creamy and smooth with some carbonation bite beneath. Hoppy, grassy, and lemony-lime upfront with a bready malt profile backed by oak that adds some unique depth to the beer with wood, spice, earthy undertones. The oakiness lingers with a dry, cracker finish and faint tea notes.
I tend to like my Pilsners unadulterated, but the oak really works here. It rounds things out, softens the crispness, but it's still very much a hoppy Pilsner. Thanks to Threes and Hudson Valley for collaborating on this delicious lager!

Poured from a can (3/16) first onto my kitchen island (whoops) and then into basically a highball glass
L: clear straw gold with a decent thick white head. Lacing is A+, nice rings with each sip
S: great clean pilsner notes with some great oak support. Flour, white bread, dough. Lightly grassy/herbal. Very crisp
T: delivers everything from the nose and then some. Again fresh bread, flour - flavor is well defined, and the oak does a great job of adding depth without taking away from the classic pilsner aspects of the beer. Well hopped, compliments malt well and definitely delivers in the "hoppy" aspect
F: great carbonation, body on point for the style. Very drinkable, maybe a bit fuller for the style than I'm used to but like it a lot
O: a really great hoppy pils, thirst quenching and very flavorful with the oak providing appreciated depth (not that all pilsners need that, obviously). Never reviewed fifth hammer's foeder pils but this reminds me of that, with a bit more hop character. Great beer
