Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Pours a deep midnight garnet topped by a finger of khaki foam. The nose comprises chestnut, light coffee, and mild wood. The taste brings notes of nuts, mild rye toast, light grass, and a hint of cola. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a rather smooth feel. A rather tasty, enjoyable Czech dark, not much of a surprise considering the meeting of the minds involved, but still worth stating.

Poured from a can (can’t quite read it, but think canned 04Jan2022? purchased at Threes on 08Jan2022) into a 50cl mug
L: pours a clear dark amber brown, opaque in the middle given how dark. Great slightly off-white head - slowly fades, leaving very nice chunky lacing as it does. No visible carbonation, great head retention
S: superb aroma. Nice roasted coffee, freshly baked rustic bread, graham cracker, rich chocolate, bit of oak. A great, robust nose while keeping true to the lighter lager nature - if that makes sense?
T: delivers the nose very well, really nice swallow. That darker chocolate and graham cracker flavor opens beautifully, get more of a honey character here than I did on the nose. Some of that rustic/whole wheat bread as well - overall it’s nicely rounded as well with a bit of… something else, that I’ll chalk up to the oak aging. Medium finish, the flavor drops off but what remains lingers nicely - there’s a bit of graham cracker, welcomes another sip
F: medium body, medium carbonation. Great mouthfeel, pleasantly full while maintaining that lighter feel/drinkability I was looking for
O: superb dark lager that lives up to expectations. Don’t have much to compare it against, but the aroma and flavor are pretty much all I could ask for? Perhaps a bit more complexity to the flavor to really make it world-class, but I don’t think there’s much to pick at here - maybe I’ll revisit after having a few more of the style

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar but when held up to a bright light there are faint traces of dark red near the edges of the glass. It poured with a short off white head that left a small patch of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of dark fruits are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts along with hints of chocolate and bits of dark fruits.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager is packed with lots of aromas and flavors of dark malts but is very easy to drink.

From a 16 oz. can acquired in New Hampshire on Jan. 9, 2021.
Handsome dark brown, tan-heady pour with moderate lacing.
Dark roasted malts on the nose along withy caramel and toffee. One of those classic smelling beers.
Mouthfeel is medium. Smooth,
Sweet malt forward taste with that same caramel and toffee and a mildly dry finale. Just nice.

The Look and Smell are of a quality beer in this style. The Taste is also but I get no oak character as advertised, and the mouthfeel is a bit thin so those two rating factors are marked down a bit.
