Hello, Brooklyn is an homage to Hello, LA, a West Coast IPA standout from our Best Coast buds at Highland Park. It's packed with more explosive IPA hops than any other single IPA in our portfolio- Citra, Mosaic and Strata. This beer is a mash up of old and new, incorporating what we've learned over the years about NEIPAs and West Coast IPAs, and adding our own Brooklyn twist.

Poured from a can (12Jan2021) into a mason jar (super hip)
L: pours a perfectly darker yellow gold, like a Martinelli's apple juice. Moderate visible carbonation (small, tight bubbles) feeding into a decently thick white head. As the head fades leaves some chunky lacing, as does each sip
S: some fruity goodness here off the bat, with a slight resiny/dank note as well. First thing I think is Welch's white grape juice, bit of that weed aroma playing off of it as first sniff. There's a slightly more earthy/piney character lurking in the back, but that juice and weed smell leads. As it's warmed the bitterness is coming through a bit more, in a great way
T: follows the nose well, with a bit more of a nicely bitter pine note coming through as well. Again get that white grape fruit flavor first, with a mix of more citrusy notes (thinking grapefruit, orange, tangerine) that pair well with the more resiny/earthy bitterness. It's a little sweet at first while juice forward (getting something else that's not citrus/on the sweeter side but can't make up my mind), then that piney character cuts through and carries through the medium finish. As it warms that drying bitterness is coming through more, like that. As a west coast IPA I was expecting more on the IBU front, but this is by no means bad
F: medium- body, medium+ carbonation, lightly drying, easy drinking
O: a delicious beer from Threes, nice and juicy while being clear (!) and having some actual bitterness to it. Main knock is I would have liked those IBUs a bit higher (in true vintage PNW IPA fashion) but I'll take a can of this anytime
