This time of year, we're craving something that's FUN to drink. And right now, our definition of fun means:

• ultra crushable with a low ABV
• full body and flavor -- no compromising
• something we can drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

In comes Theatre of the Absurd Dark Mild. 3.1% with notes of cherry cola and marble rye, this is the definition of a pub ale. American oak spice reminds us of pulling up a stool at our favorite dive bar, but with a carefully crafted beer. Designed with so much intention, flexing full malt and roasty flavors, wrapped in a smooth package. We had a lot of fun making this for you, and we're having even more fun drinking it. Don't get FOMO and taste what we're talking about.

Canned on 1/25/22

Pours straight-up cola brown (or maybe just a shade darker) with two fingers of cherry cola head. The head just kind of hangs out like an uber-fluffy nitrogenated stout. Looks like some real care went into this beer's formulation. Light cola on the nose with hints of brown sugar and - like the description says- marbled rye. Smells awful nice for something sitting at 3.1% ABV. Taste brings cocoa powder, cherry cordial and slightly burnt toast on the back end. Taste almost like a low ABV stout, but it's definitely it's own thing. Very, very clean. Lighter mouthfeel with moderate carbonation suits matters really well. Damn, this is a well-made beer and something I could sure go for a whole lot more of.

Can fro the brewery in Brooklyn. Pours a very dark opaque amber brown with two fingers of rocky light tan head that sticks around, nice lacing, smell is roasted dark malts, wheat crackers, crusty brown bread, hints of sour grains and grass, taste is roasted dark malts, toasted brown bread, mildly bitter dark chocolate, hints of funky wheat and grass on the finish, feel is light with high carbonation, semi dry finish. Crushable toasted dark bread delight.

A: The beer is very close to being jet black in color and only has faint traces of dark brown near the edges of the glass when it is held up to a very bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high beige colored head that left a thin collar around the edge and some specs of bubbles clinging to the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts and cola are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts and cola with hints of coffee beans. A light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is especially easy to drink and is perfectly sessionable.
