Our beginning:
Six thousand miles separated brothers Ken and Matt, but good beer kept them close.
Ken was living in Baltimore while Matt was working overseas. Despite the distance, they spoke almost daily about new beers they had either tried or brewed. Shortly after, Matt came to Baltimore, and the two set off on their annual hike along the Appalachian Trail. It was on that trip they began discussing a family brewery; one that would become part of the Baltimore community. After their return, they put pen to paper, and Monument City Brewing Company was born.
Matt moved to Baltimore, and the two immediately got to work building a pilot brewing system and perfecting their recipes. Their focus was on producing honest craft beer using traditional American brewing methods.
Today, the beer that began as a conversation across two continents is ready for you to enjoy with your own family and friends. Here's to the things that matter most, and here's to great beer!

Visited for the first time last Memorial day weekend. Safe parking lot next to a bar and down the way from the ax throwing place. Allison and I got there about an hour before close, and unsurprisingly had the place to ourselves. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable and the selection tilted towards the sessionable and low-medium abv beers, which fits me perfectly, especially with an hour drive to go. We could easily walk from Allison's place, at least if we were feeling lucky, so I expect to be back.

Last time I was in Baltimore I compared local canned beers, and liked their beers the best. So, I ventured to visit them when I revisited the city.
I was afraid if I could feel comfortable to drink alone. My worry disappeared once I got there. Their clients behaved pleasantly. This place is not a dive bar. A young female alone would be able to feel safe.
Spacious, clean, not too busy. The band was not too loud. Courteous staff. Friendly. Not over friendly.
I saw families with toddlers and baby. It seemed there was a gathering of an extended family. Safe and clean environment for kids.
The neighborhood surrounding this place may not be the safest, but nothing dangerous in a walking distance. It is tacked in. Hidden and secluded.
Enter through a gate (not guarded) of a company called Urban Axes Baltimore.
