Bomber from Brewers Haven. 2019 vintage. Deep golden body, with small creamy head and active carbonation. White wine is first in the aroma, wheat. Wine dominates the taste too, with some subtle weizen characteristics in the background. Seems to have held up with two years cellar time. Sweet.

Poured from 750 mL bottle into weizen glass. Bottled on the 76th day of 2016.
A: Wow...careful with this one! After opening, it blows big. Even after pours a good amount into the glass, I look over and the foam is starting to emerge from the bottle. Crazy! Beer looks very nice with hazy orange-yellow hue and very active (!) carbonation jets producing a massive 4 inch frothy white head which eventually settles to a 1/4 inch skim with nice lacing. Small amount of sediment dances in the carbonation jets.
S: Very vinous with white wine and soft grape notes. Hints of banana, clove, and fruity esters.
T: The chardonnay hits first, quickly followed by soft oak, grape, clove, banana, white pepper, and fruity esters. A hint of funk around the edges. Nice base beer and nice additional aging elements.
M: Soft and slightly oily feel. Medium body. Soft fruit and oak. Mildly astringent throughout. Lingers and matures nicely on the palate too.
D: Overall, it delivers as promised...great base beer and nice chardonnay barrel aging which seems to be an NBC specialty and is quite lovely. Well done!

Gorgeous, murky, golden edged, amber beer with decent lacing. Frothy pearl white head.
Aroma of ginger and clove, malt, vegetal whispy kind smell, and the champagne-esque flavor.
Oak and clove dominate the palate, but balance that spice to a malty, refreshing and surprising light 8% beer. Extremely smooth. A flavor almost like lemon grass or a mint relative at times.
Maximized this beer's potential pairing it with a light spiced, spinach and butter pasta with some fresh and well spiced salmon; but it was big enough for me to drink some without food afterwards.
Fantastic brew!!!

never heard of this before, an imperial hefe aged in chardonnay barrels, what a great idea, and what a great beer it is! the barrels must be first use or even freshly drained, there is a ton of the white wine in the nose and in the flavor, right off the bat its powerful. the yeast from the hefe and the acid and fruitiness of the wine are an amazing combination, and its totally new to my palate, the grape and the banana together, with a little soft spice and mild sweetness, amazing. there is a little tang to this, maybe slightly beyond wine or oak tannins, but well short of wild ale pucker. tons of fluffy wheat body on this, very fresh tasting too for spending time in a barrel, and this is one of the very few strong ales i had from these guys that didnt seem overly alcoholic, just a little warmth to this one. pretty impressive depth of flavor, i like it being an imperial rather than a regular hefe, i think its necessary with this much wine character. really impressive beer overall, we had it on tap and i did not see it bottled, but this is definitely one they should package, if they dont already have that in the works. one of the best nebraska brewing beers i have had!

I was skeptical how a german beer would go with a french wine barrel, but apparently peace prevailed! Murky orange with a clear bubble collar. Has the dry white wine, grape must, and the expressive french oak up front, but then aromas of the banana, clove, wheat and fruit esters just slide on in beautifully. Taste has the same players, but the oak, clove and wheat pull to the front for attention. Feel is vinous, subtle in the wheatiness, smooth, and simply soft. A fun beer
