Very Good
EOS HefeweizenEOS Hefeweizen
Notes: This medium to full-bodied beer, pale to amber in color, is most accurately described as a Bavarian wheat beer. The aroma and flavor of this unfiltered beer is decidedly fruity and phenolic — a big word for a brew that tastes like cloves, nutmeg or sometimes vanilla with banana-like esters.

Easy drinking and good flavor, taste is heavy on clove and banana. Good beer but not quite as good as its German counterparts.

Poured from a pull top can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a hazy orange-yellow color with a tiny head of fizzy white foam. The head fades almost instantly, leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strong of a wheat bread smell mixed with tons of banana and a little bit a decent showing of a clove and coriander smell. Along with these smells is a touch of citrus and a hint of hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice blend of wheatiness and light orange and banana flavor. The sweet is rather light in comparison to what may have been expected from the nose. As the taste advances a bit of the spice that was in the nose comes also to the tongue with the clove being the most potent of the spice flavors. All the while a little bit of a hay and grass taste also come to the tongue and with a tiny increase in the orange, one is left with a nice crisp and clean, wheaty but lightly spiced and sweetened hefe taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thin and crisp with a carbonation level that is moderate. For the flavors of the brew and the drier nature the feel is great and makes this a super easy drinker.
Overall – Other then the somewhat weak appearance, this was a very tasty and super easy drinking brew. Rather well done and a nice one to try if you get the opportunity.

Such a delicious hefeweizen that pairs well with pork and steak. It's not too powerful, with banana bread flavor and notes of citrus. Very carbonated which is a personal favorite. Some hefe's leave you with a harsh after-taste if you don't sip water or eat with it but with eos you can drink it alone and it only leaves a slight yeast after-taste. Would recommend for those that appreciate a hearty wheat brew.

Unknown vintage; drank 7/19/15 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dandelion appearance.

Big, noisy white head which quickly dissipated; decent lace.

Banana, clove & faint black pepper notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Banana & mild clove flavors up front; mild orange citrus & black pepper notes on the finish.

This reminded me of a Belgian IPA; well made but not memorable.

I love this stuff. Sour and fruity and complex, wonderful first hit, no lingering aftertaste of vanilla or anything at all like perfume or bananas, kind of a pet peeve of mine with some hefeweizen beers.

Unlike most good beers, I drink it out of the can. The can is pretty and has a great big-mouth design, the whole top comes off. Pairs wonderfully with either steak or poultry; I find it a bit too strong for most seafood. Good with salmon, though.

This is my daily beer these days. I had to nag my local HEB to carry it. They had the (nothing special) Nebraska IPA, but not the EOS which frankly was a crime against god and man.

Anyway, if you like a strong-tasting, complex hefeweizen with no flowery afternotes, give it a try. Highly recommended.

Weak head that is lost quickly. Initially poured like a kristalweizen. Had to bet the haziness out of the can. Lovely orange amber color. Smell slightly funky and orangey. Somewhat intensely sour for the genre without characteristic sourness. Somewhat thinner mouthfeel .

12 ounce can into weizen glass, canned on 2/3/2017. Pours hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, banana, bubblegum, pear, apple, pepper, clove, nutmeg, coriander, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and fairly creamy/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very nice hefeweizen. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Well rounded yeast complexity and balanced malts; with just enough hop presence to round it out. Slightly on the thin side; but still very flavorful for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

This was poured into a weizen glass. The appearance was a semi-clear golden color with a one finger white foamy messy lacing trying to cling in parts but slides in other parts. The smell had a full banana wheat to clove, sweet and spicy and full but not heavy. The taste was sweet and spicy and brought in the wheat to balance nicely and broaden the aftertaste. A quick somewhat dry sweet and spicy finish ran it out. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a extremely nice sessionability. Carbonated nicely, this one takes the spice and the sweet to roll somewhat gently across my tongue. Overall, very nicely done German styled Hefeweizen that I would have again.

I got a can of Nebraska Brewing's EOS Hefeweizen last week for 1.69 at The Lager Mill. It's been a little while since I've had a Hefeweizen and I'm interested to see what this brewery can do with the style, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a 12oz can into a Weizen glass.

A- The can looks good, it goes well with the name and it's just a little eye catching. It poured a cloudy golden orange color that took on more of a pale yellow color when held to the light with a little over two fingers of creamy white head that died down to a thin ring that eventually faded away and it left a little bit of spotty lacing behind. This is a pretty nice looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the yeast being the first to show up and it imparts a big ripe banana aroma which is the aspects that sticks out the most aroma and it's followed by a fairly big amount of spices with some cloves seeming to stick out the most. Up next comes just a slight bubble gum like aroma and that goes into the malts which some pale malt, grainy, bready and sweet malt aromas with the sweet malts seeming to stick out the most. The aroma is pretty nice, it's true to style and I like how bright the banana aspect is.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the yeast still being the first to show up, it's a little lighter than it was in the aroma, but it imparts all the same aspects and it's still the banana that sticks out the most with those spices and cloves showing up in the background. Up next comes that light bubble gum aspects that I got in the aroma and it goes into the malts which show up just as much as they did in the aroma and they impart all the same aspects with the sweet malts still seeming to stick out the most. On the finish there's pretty much no bitterness with a little more sweetness taking it's place and it had some banana, spices and malty flavors showing up in the aftertaste. Tis is a pretty nice tasting Hefeweizen, it's true to style and it doesn't have any off flavors.

M- Smooth, slightly cloying, pretty crisp, slightly creamy, medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice, but it would be better with just a little less sweetness.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and I thought it was a solid example of the style, it had pretty much all the aspects that I was looking for in the style and nothing stuck out as being unwanted for the style. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple of them, especially when it's warmer outside. What I like the most about this beer is how true to style it is, it's just what I expect from a Hefeweizen. What I like the least about this beer is the slightly cloying aspect in the mouthfeel, it would be a little better if it didn't have that. I would buy this beer again when looking for a solid Hefeweizen and I would recommend it to anyone else looking for the same. All in all I liked this beer and it's just what I expected it to be. It's not favorite beer from this brewery and it's a solid example of the style. Nice job guys, this is a solid Hefeweizen, keep it up.

I picked this up during a recent trip to Omaha. My cousin highly recommended that I try something from Nebraska Brewing Company so this is one of the beers that I decided to pick up and give a shot.

This beer pours a bright, white, frothy head that dissipates fairly slowly to an ultra thin lacing. The beer itself is cloudy and golden in color with high carbonation easily visible. 3.75/5 Typical of the Hef category, this beer's aroma is very focused on banana and cloves. It is very fruity and phenolic just like the description. There is a bit of light cracker malt and a bit of a Cheerios undertone but he banana and cloves really take the cake here. 4/5 Right off the bat the beer digs into the fruity territory with notes of bananas and pears. A bit of lemony tartness follows the banana and pear notes. Cracker malt, light wheat bread, and cloves come out in the middle prior to some grassy hops coming out in the final third of the flavor profile that really don't provide any bitterness to the beer, just an earthy, grassy note that balances the fruit. 3.75/5 The body on this beer is right around medium in nature and there is a bit of light drying on the back end with just a bit of lingering dryness on the palate after swallowing. There is a light carbonation burn up front but this disappears fairly quickly. 3.75/5 This is a very good Hef that focuses quite heavily on the banana while allowing a bit of lemon tartness to lighten things up a bit and keep the beer from becoming overly fruity. Easily a thirst quenching beer and sessionable due to the low abv. 3.75/5

Aroma is wheat, bananas, mild sugar and a hint of earthiness. The flavor is bananas, wheat and a mix of mild/medium sweetness and slight tartness in the finish.
