Formerly Summertime Rye

Summertime Rye is a crafty combination of Rye, Barley, and Wheat Malts carefully dosed with Citra Hops in the kettle and the fermenter. The result is a markedly flavorful and refreshing lower ABV beer. Summertime Rye is a real thirst quencher–we hope it helps you endure the summer!

Superb execution of the citra pale ale. The rye notes sing with bright notes of orange peel and orange juice on the palate, and the nose is sweaty and ripe with some greenery backing it up. Effervescent feel gives it a delightful summer pop. Insanely enjoyable. Highly recommended.

this is a beer drinkers summer beer for sure, and one of the better beers we had here. its a grain heavy citrus forward hoppy beer, orange in color, mostly clear, holding a tall white head in a globe, and sporting a bright citra hop aroma that suggests a heavy handed dry hop. there is a lot of grain here, wheat and rye in with the barley, lots of body on the first sip, heavy almost, but dry, and very hoppy in the finish. notes of rye bread and honey, orange peel and lemon juice, grass and grain, there is plenty going on in this beer, which somehow has this crazy low abv while packing in all this flavor and body, its really a beautiful thing. not so much of a spice profile from the rye that i am used to, more of a well rounded late summer sort of richness to this, mild peppery notes, but some real interesting breadiness too. the lighter hops seem playful here, adding very little bitterness but a lot of fresh citrus. this is awesome summer beer, somewhat substantial for what it is, but i like that part of it a lot. overall one of the best (and most drinkable) beers i had from these guys while i was here, and quite unlike anything else i have had deemed to be summer beer. really nicely done!

On-tap at NBC...

Appearance: Golden haze with minor head and plenty of bubbly carbonation.

Smell: Rye is extraordinarily apparent with hints of the hops making a subtle appearance.

Taste: This one has such a delicious rye control in it. In no way can this be considered negatively. This beer is a perfect drink for the summer. The aftertaste will have you endlessly gulping on this one.

Mouthfeel: Light with plenty of carbonation to solidify it's summer body as refreshingly crisp.

Overall: I can't keep myself from driving back and back and forth for it!!!

Nebraska Summertime Rye

On tap at Fatheads

Appears a clear yellow, with a small white cap and alittle lacing. Aroma is floral and spicy. In the flavor, big rye notes, a little peppery and bitter. Hop presence is mild and bitterness sticks to the rye notes. Just a hint of citrus peeks through. Mouthfeel is crisp, smooth, and well carbonated. Overall, this is a nice rye beer, could appeal to the light beer drinker and is a fine summer option.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. In the aroma, fruity and dry rye notes. In the taste, dry rye and green apple fruitiness. A small hop bite and a medium to lighter bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry fruitiness of rye in the aftertaste. Light and dry, with a nice rye presence, very nice.
