Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Big topped light tan head, reaching a big three fingers tall, and some swiss cheese like bubbles and retention. Body color is a real dark walnut brown, mixing with faint bit of red, and quite opaque. Aggressive looking brown ale and appealing.
Aroma is true to mention. Hints on the nose of light smoke and nutty quality. Faint touches of milk chocolate but some good bread crust hitting in as well. Quite a nice mix, the smoke is pretty subtle.
Palate takes some solid roads, with some minor faults. Fairly solid mouthfeel neutral and supportive. Flavors in the mid palate are a bit washed out, with some mild nut character and more of a liquid smoke quality. Aftertaste has a bit of mild novocaine character. A bit fizzy on first sip as well.
A little bit of mild brown flavor, with a light smoke quality and some very minor faults.
