Presentation: Sampled at the tasting room come shop at Brasserie Brootcoorens during a Brewery Tour on Monday 17th April, 2006.

Appearance: This one looks the business, clear golden-yellow with a nice body of streamers on the pour from the bottle. Thick creamy super bleached white head forms a deep cap that has a rocky surface. Conditioning is finely dissolved and resilient. Super fantastic Duvel-ian looks.

Nose: The hops are centre-pieced around lemon peel and orange slices, hay and fresh cut grass add a Summer aspect to odors, whilst herbs and spices lend complexity. Lovely nose, a real pleasure to enjoy the aromas on this one long before the first sip even.

Taste: All that the nose promised, and much more. Candy sugar adds some depth and Belgian feel whilst the lemons and orange neatly balance the sweetness with some acidity. The herbs and spices add yet another dimension that blends with the grasses to produce a rich feel. The hops are detectable and they add a nice rounded bitterness.

Mouthfeel: The finely dissolved carbonation is velvet like, smooth and creamy with a lovely texture that you can literally sink into.

Drinkability: Hands down a premium session beer that is dangerously drinkable. The gorgeous looks, nose, flavor profile and Mouthfeel synergistically blend to form a supremely quaffable libation.

Overall: By far the best of the three ‘regular’ Brootcooren brews that we tried during our Brewery Tour. I also tried a few specials but they were smaller samples and by then I was filling up on the La Sambresse when I had the chance to top up my glass. La Sambresse is a fantastic brew that really impressed, and not just me, but many others in our group also. I should have declined the Angélus Spéciale Noël that I brought back to the US, I just wish I could have picked up some of this to bring back instead.

BB end 2006( no month carved). Great appearance with lasting white head forming big bubbles but staying well and leaving after a while a moutainious landscape. Nose is great having good candy, sourness, birchjuise, cirrussy/orange, liltle dried grass and nicely fresh&piney overall. Taste is good also being full and litle sour. great spicyness with sweet gale like note, birchjuice and delicatly but quiet low hopped. Woww what an enjoyment and really something else as the expected. Great wildbrew with nice and quiet high carbonisation to make mouthfeel even fresher. One I enjoyed the whole 750 long and shure gonna get more of these.
