A - Poured with a hefty two-finger head of off-white foam that rests on top of a copper-brown body. The foam exhibits very good retention and leaves nice, thick lace.
S - A nice, pungent aroma of citrus and pine hops. There is also a backing note of bread and toffee with a hint of rye/wheat spiciness.
T - Pine hops up front with noticeable rye mustiness. The malt profile becomes more complex in the middle with notes of toast and toffee, with just a hint of caramel. Finishes with grapefruit and pine hop flavor as well as stiff bitterness.
M - Medium-thick body, moderate carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish.
D - This is a well made RIPA and probably the best hop-oriented beer that 7 Bridges has poured. The hop character is pungent and aggressive, but there is a significant backbone of sweet, amber malt. This balance is similar to that of some other "east coast" IPA/DIPAs like Dogfish 90 min. Overall, it is a very drinkable RIPA that manages to showcase strong malt and hop character while remaining balanced.
