A - A hazy, dark brown body, topped by a small cap of off white foam. The head seattles quickly and leaves decent lace.
S - Spicy wood notes with some sweet vanilla. Dark, fruity malt notes in the background with a hint of caramel.
T - Lightly sweet malt with a little toast and toffee. Subtle fruit notes of plum and red apple in the middle with some toasted oak. Light vanilla and caramel towards thee finish with a hint of smoke.
M - Medium-thick body, moderate carbonation and a dry finish.
D - Nice, the basebeer shines through with only subtle influence from the wood. While the wood character is mild, especially in the flavor, it does work well with the flavors of the bock. The spiciness of the oak compliments the dark, complex malt and the rummy sweetness is an excellent match for the toffee. I think this is the first barrel aged lager that I have come across and it works surprisingly well! Another excellent barrel aged beer from 7 bridges.
