Handpull vanilla brown. This one may have been influenced by the tap having problems. Typical thick single finger head for a cases beer. Murky brown with crimson hues body. Light on the nose with typical caramel malt aroma. Vanilla isn't very well represented in the smell. Flavor is a different story with a vanilla note throughout which nicely balances the slightly bitter notes you find in red and brown ales. Slight vanilla aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. The brewer here is excellent at adding the right amounts of flavoring to his brews. I have had multiple vanilla, honey and even a white chocolate flavored beers and he seems to have this art down to a science.
