Single finger head with good retention on a deep amber body. Nice retention and excelent lacing. Mild musty, pungent and earthy hops with a nice malt and rye backbone. Very bready. Flavor does an excellent job of incorporating the rye bread, maybe the best of any rue beer. With this one the rye is complemented by the earthy hops as oppose to the opposite. The finish has a delayed pine and subtle sweet note. Medium body and moderate carbonation. One of the best rye beers I have had though the flavor remains a bit simple.
