Single finger tan head with excellent retention on a jet black body. Excellent lacing. Aroma includes vanilla, sweet chocolate, dark fruit... Very chocolate stout like. Flavors of vanilla, brown sugar, milk chocolate. This basically is a stout and not really a doppelbock. The bartender describes it as a lager version of their stout which is odd. Thick body and light to moderate carbonation. Trying them back to back this one is sweeter in flavor and less carbonated but smells the same. Complex but strange. It may be called a doppelbock but it drinks like a stout and isn't much more drinkable. Also less coffee presence than the house stout
