Copenhagen 21/1 2022. 44 cl can from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus (formerly Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel) , Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø. Drawing of a loony scientist riding a soaring rocket on the can.
Pours opaque hazy, golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Settles as 0,2 cm thick, consistent layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense and quite much on the sweetened fruity side. Light citric notes. Peach and apricot marmelade. Rancid butter. Touch of decay and alcohol. Light whiff of grapefruit.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, a bit greasy and lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a sneaky, medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a notable bitter undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.
Quite on the sweet side with a slightly rough bitterness. Maybe it it rocket science to produce a good Indian Pale Ale.
