A dark Belgian ale.
The beer appears ruby red with a beautiful beige head. The aroma brings to mind figs, prunes, dates, raisins and other dark fruits. The Belgian Trappist yeast also offers flavor notes of apples, sweet orange and light tones of chocolate. The aftertaste is long, sweet and not too bitter.
Merry Christmas!

Copenhagen 21/11 2019. 33 cl bottle from Rema 1000, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh NV. Nørrebros usual design with white, light Blue and a burgundy figure on dark green background.
Pours murky Maroon with small off-white head. Settles as flimsy remnants of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No Lacing.
Aroma is intense, sweet and a bit spicy. Dark roasted malts, caramel, light smoky odor. Light fruity tartness rummaging in the background.
Medium carbonation. Thin, watery, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a slightly more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is caramellish sweet. Lingers for a bit.
Fine sweet Christmas Dubbel with enough fruity tartness to make it a little interesting.
