A: Dark redish brown color with thick copper colored head.

S: Sweet and malty. A hint of molasses.

T: Taste matches the smell with a fairly strong caramel and molasses flavor. The sweetness seems to overwhelm the malty and nutty flavors in the background, but not bad. A little bit of a smokey, nutty aftertaste.

M: Smooth and creamy with full body.

O: Lots of flavor for brown ale. A little bit sweet for my preference, but certainly worth trying.

A 400ml bottle with a BB of June 2018. Acquired a while back from a webshop. The label blurb is in Danish but I can make out that this is an American-inspired brown ale.

A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A deep reddish-brown hue that appears almost black in the glass. Yields an enormous head of creamy tan foam with decent retention; this slowly reduces to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of rich sweet malt with hints of caramel/toffee, grain, subtle brown sugar, dried fruit, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Decidedly malty; pretty good.

T: Tastes of sweet dark malt with notes of caramel/toffee, grain, dried fruit, mild brown sugar, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Quite sweet, followed by a modest malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with decent carbonation and good body. Slightly astringent. Aftertaste of sweet caramel malt, subtle roasted grain, dried fruit, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves.

O: Not bad - while not a favourite style of mine this goes down readily enough. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are rich, sweet and malty. Nice body. Drinkable and good for when you want something more substantial than a pale ale. Worth sampling.

On-tap at Nørrebro Bryghus in Copenhagen, served in a stemmed pokal glass.

A- Pours nearly black with a thin tan head that quickly recedes, leaves little lacing.

S- Has a subtle but very nice aroma of chocolate, nuts, caramel, and yeast.

T- Flavor is similar, mild chocolate, caramel, some nuts and a bit of dark fruit, as well as cracker-like toasted malts and some yeast.

M- Medium-bodied, smooth, a bit creamy.

O- A very solid brown ale, went really well with the ribs we ordered, very tasty and easy to drink.

Dark brown pour, small off white head getting even thinner soon, leaving a poor thin lace.
Glad to get a nice rich and salty nut smell, some chocolate, dusted with cocoa powder, toasted grain, a whiff of smoked wood, vanilla and faint raisin.
Caramel and molasses, but pretty watered down by the light body. Cocoa powder, burnt nut peel, salt, crunchy toasted grain, a subtle dark fruit note waaay in the back, along with a bit of zest. Dry leaf hops in the finish, bitter enough, even with a bit of ash (cigar-like).
Very light bodied, medium carbonation, kinda watery. Aftertaste is a bit hoppy, some extra toasty malts, nuts and a bit of cocoa.
Enjoyable, but not strong enough to support it's flavours. Missed the top of the brown ale category by just a bit.

Quite dark, but beautiful color, with mahogany edges. One finger of beige foam.
Intense smell of dark malts, chocolate, red fruit, hazelnut.
Again dark malts, not toasted, with hazelnut and light fruity notes in the taste. Light, but present, chocolate touches.
Round, average body, again a good amount of hazelnut in the aftertaste, and some hint of green hop.
Not bad at all.
