This is like a West Coast IPA done better. The hops play master of ceremonies, while letting the malt 'rock steady' with no detriment to balance or punch. Good, lord. The nose is Mariah Carey after a 3-mile run; the taste is Christina Aguilera after a bath. Sugary, sweet, hoppy, restrained, and in your face all at the same time. Angels are singing. Tea flavored gum, and buttery biscuits. A gentle breeze against the Wimbledon grass when Boris Becker was diving on it, circa his prime. That's a winner! This is IPA refined, and perfected. Grab a growler and let it envelop your taste buds. You won't be sorry.

This DIPA was a bit too sweet for me, and I thought the hops were a bit too restrained. With time and warmth though, it grew on me in a big way. Basically the hops stuck around as a bit of dank and ambiguous fruit, while the malt sweetness and almost-aggressive-enough mouthfeel buoyed the experience adequately.
A little hot for my liking. If a DIPA is at all boozy, the hop punch to the face needs to include brass knuckles. Definitely an above average DIPA, but it's good tier or two below the best stuff coming out of Steady Habit.

This beer has a very nice balance between the hop bite and smooth malt. Bitterness is pronounced but not chalky and thin. Aromas waft from the growler even before the pour, and then overflow in the glass with fruit, pine forest, spice, citrus and tropical overtones. Maybe even a little catty. Malt base provides the perfect body and ~initially~ creamy mouthfeel I enjoy in an IPA--before the hops take over. All good. What a concoction!
