32oz growler into a Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Opaque orange-juice yellow. Big long lasting white head, thick rings of lacing.
Smell: Orange and tangerine hops, some peach. Huge aroma that stays strong for the life of the beer and enlivens every sip.
This is one of those single hop beers that presents you with all the goodness and nuance of the showcased hop. Very citrusy with strong stone fruit highlights.
Taste: Follows the nose: citrus hops with a very mild, supporting-cast cereal malt backbone that just serves as a canvas for all the hop flavor. High IBU gives the flavor some punch and mixes well with the almost puckering succulence of the hop flavor. For me it's mostly tangerine with, like I said before, strong stone fruit highlights (what I mean is, it's somewhere on the border of "tinged with peach/passionfruit" and "foregrounded peach/passionfruit flavor).
This is about as straightforward and well done as an IPA gets: solid, brilliantly constructed malt/hop/mouthfeel with highly attenuated, clean-to-the-point-of-invisibility yeast, with an interesting, worthwhile hop.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, moderately high IBU, semi-dry finish. At points juicy, at other points almost creamy. Spot on as usual.
Overall: Like many Steady Habit (india) pale ales, this beer is a flaunting of the brewery's talent for thoughtfully constructed hoppy beers, and a tasting-tutorial for the featured ingredient (in this case, Galaxy hops). A beer-lovers beer, no bullshit, just well done across the board and super satisfying.

On tap at prime 16
Once poured it was murky and hazy - once again just like i like my ipa's. I felt this stood up with all the new england galaxy hopped beers. Jon killed it with this one. The galaxy hops jump out at you - very juicy. I had to have 3 pours before leaving.

L: Hazy gold that pours with a fluffy white head that recedes to a tight white ring that leaves behind a delicate lacing.
S: Bright and citrusy. You know you're about to taste lemons.
T: Yes, meyer lemons to be exact. Really nice citrus flavor that never gets too intense.
F: The carb is so on point with this flavor profile. There's a sweet and dry thing happening with this beer, and it's all driven by the hops.
O: Fantastic beer. I gotta admit, the first time I tried it I wasn't so impressed, but subsequent tastings have totally turned me around and prompted me to change my rating and add a review. This is yet another great hoppy IPA from Steady Habit.

It was all a dream, I used to read Word Up magazine. Steady Habit is bringing hops to a whole new dimension. I love what these guys are doing, and I can't wait for a return visit. Pours a bit darker than their flagship, ODB, but with the same amount of lacing and retention. The produce you get on the nose is really insane. I'm getting a bit of dankness on this one that I didn't detect on the previous. The taste is a majestic blend of tropical fruits and grassy bitterness. Be prepared to smack that tongue on the back end, because it's coming in full force. I like it. Has a bit more body than ODB, which could be attributed to a slightly elevated ABV, but overall, it's smooth and infectiously creamy. I hope SHBC blows up like nitroglycerin. They deserve it. Larrrrrrrrge!!!
