Growler into a Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Opaque yellowish orange. Frothy white head with great retention and lacing.
Smell: Smells like two row malt and coconut curry. Bit of a wtf smell, but not bad. As it warms, still has elements of curry, coconut, and sweet corn, but also a little melon underneath. Totally bizarre hop, helped out by the nice grain backbone.
Taste: I feel like my brain is playing tricks on me... it's like a huge burst of cereal-like 2row malt, with the same creamed corn and coconut curry backbone. I don't know what the fuck is happening here.
Kind of a sweet pilsnery tang, and tons of malt. Is my palate not ready for this hop? Does it really taste like coconut curry mixed with corn puree? These are good flavors, but not what I want in a beer. I'm very confused.
It sounds crazy, but that ripe, milky coconut curry, creamed corn flavor and taste is like the vanilla version of really deep dark fruit flavors in quads. Make sense to you? Maybe it does.
Mouthfeel: Hard to score with such a bizarro taste. Medium bodied and creamy. Good carbonation. Solid as usual.
Overall: I don't know if this is a palate expanding experience or if this hop plays mysterious tricks on me. I mean, it's a well put together beer, and part of my confusion might come from just expecting huge, bitter, dank, citrusy hop punches to the face from Steady Habit--despite loving a great malty flavor like this.
I don't know. I have to say this beer is kind of a miss for me, but big emphasis on the "for me". I feel like someone who just saw a movie that they *knew* was good but they just didn't get. I don't know.

I havent seen a lot of brewers use the Motueka hops but its not one someone should pass over. As the beer warms nice mango notes shine through. The beer was nice and dry with a clean finish. Nice job on this one jon

Drank from a 750 ml growler purchased at Steady Habit Brewing Company, Haddam, CT
Served in a snifter
Super cloudy, yellow ochre appearance. The beer was capped by a tight, creamy, finger-plus tall cap of light tan foam. The head quickly fell to a thin bubbly mass. A frothy halo encircled the liquid. Spotty lacing trickled down the glass.
The nose was really interesting. This was my first time trying a Kohatu hopped beer and it was pretty wild. Quite sweet and grape-y. Very wine-like. Sauvignon Blanc definitely came to mind. This was similar in some ways to a beer that was hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops but was even fruitier and juicier. Somewhat crisp and dry as well. Peach notes were detectible. Bit of Juicy Fruit gum too. There was an intense yeastiness. The yeast notes became even more apparent as the beer warmed. Dry and slightly chalky. Hint of of bubblegum. The more I smelled this, the more it almost reminded me of a double IPA/hefeweizen hybrid.
The flavor profile followed the nose. The beer was both sweet and dry. Really fruity. Very grape-y. Slightly musky. This reminded me of a sweet white wine. Perhaps Riesling? The yeast notes were again very apparent. Slightly chalky. Bubblegum notes also came through. The beer finished dry and slightly bitter with a touch of orange rind. Again, both double IPA and hefeweizen characteristics were rather prevalent.
Super creamy and frothy mouthfeel. Slick and smooth on the palate. Medium bodied for the style.
Yeah Nah Bro is a really unique beer with an intense juicy, fruity, grape-y quality, and an interesting interplay between sweet and dry. Although I am typically a huge fan of the new-wave cloudy, yeast-suspended hoppy beers, this one could stand to be cleaned up a bit. With a bit more focus and clarity, it could be stellar.
