Bodega is a super-saturated Hoppy Ale (8.0%) hopped with 12 pounds of hops per barrel, entirely with Citra. This beer is an homage — right down to the label — to Musical Box founder Larry’s now-defunct Third Rail Beer project, the NYC-based gypsy brewery he co-founded in 2014. Bodega was Third Rail’s flagship APA, hopped mostly with Citra but with a little Columbus sprinkled in. The 2022 version has been updated for modern palates, featuring a much brighter yellow appearance; creamier mouthfeel and overstuffed with hops in true Musical Box style; scaled from the original’s 5.8%; and only showcasing Citra (no Columbus required).
