one of the more consistent beers from these guys so far, its always good when i go in, and its getting better all the time. not overly oaty, meaning a little less body and sweetness than others, and thats just fine because its a real drinkable brew. plenty of roasted barley bitterness on it, and a nice summery bitter hop finish, elegant though, not over the top, and nowhere near the black ipa realm. its not smokey at all, but there it a touch of char or ashy character to it, could be a circulator issue in the kettle, but could also be intentional, and frankly its more flattering than not. nice smooth mellow feel, only a little tannic. cool that sparge water down a degree or two, and thats cleaned up i have to imagine. again though, its not really coming across as an off flavor, rather as just something a little different. this one is also carbonated better than almost any other beer they have made so far, and maybe for that reason alone, its their best beer to date. i drink it every time i go in, and at this abv, i can put a fair few back, and they keep improving it batch to batch. the fact that its served by some of the nicest people in the game helps too...
