this is far and away the best beer these guys make, and its truly one of a kind. it is a helles lager beer, but its fermented with sake yeast as well. i have never had anything like it, and i think its incredible. for how pedestrian some of the other beers here are, this one stands out is the crown jewel. beautifully blonde and clear, with a lasting inch of white head. its crazy carbonated, tons and tons of bubbles rise up though the whole drink, keeping the head replenished. it smells a touch sweet, the grain is very fresh, the sake yeast gives it a really unique floral winey thing that really works. the flavor at first sip doesnt taste all that different from other blondes and helles types, but the nuance is ripe, and i appreciate it more and more every sip. its not quite as dry as i expected it to be, but the sugar thats left tastes amazing, its different, round and bright, like a confection of some kind. mild citrus and grassy notes from the hopping on the back end too, which with the sake yeast is also very unfamiliar but pleasant on the palate. its just delicious beer, and although i almost never choose yellow beer as my top pick, whenever i go here this is all i drink. its medal worthy, and if you havent had it, you absolutely need to try it. yum!
