an extremely assertively dry hopped cream ale, a clever style bender that drinks both super easy and robustly flavorful, nicely done here. pours just a little hazy from the tap room but rather well refined, im sure just a little haze from the hops on the chill, nice white head on it with great retention. it smells kind of old school hoppy for being dry hopped, like, i get the bitterness for sure and some vegetal plant material in here, not a ton of new school tropical and juicy aromatics, but i dont miss that profile here at all. i like the light pine and bitterness on display. the base beer is solid, light bodied and dry with a lager sort of crispness, really pretty light and crushable without the hops, but the hops are what make it. coming on about midway through we get a little bitter citrus zest and a light juniper note, mild sweetness for a flash, and then a snappy bitterness that helps it finish off. maybe a little overboard with the hops for this style, but i really like the idea and the execution is just about there. nice to see these guys continuing to the beat of their own drum...
