listed on their menu now at 6.3% abv. it makes sense for these guys to partner up with corvus, being neighbors and all, and honestly, this beer was only a matter of time. i am glad its as good as it is, they were smart to craft a stout thats mild enough for the coffee to push through it so brilliantly, or rather, add enough coffee for it to come though such a flavorful base beer, one or the other. the malts here are as roasty as the coffee, lots of bitterness from both too, especially in the finish, but there is an intensity about this that i like, a real low end, tons of maltiness too, there is a middle here, its balanced and layered and it comes in waves, but the coffee is front and center. some chocolate notes too, dark mostly, but there is a sweet flash as well, and it does have a bit of a creamy feel, maybe some oats in this. not overly complex, which is smart too, the coffee is the complexity, it has its own complexity, and if anyone is familiar with corvus coffee, this will make perfect sense. nice to see these guys evolving as much as they are, this is great beer, nice use of a fine coffee, and something that will only grow in appeal for me as the weather cools down and the days get shorter...
