the flavors of this boysenberry gose are better than its execution, if that makes sense. like, the taste of the fruit is great, its salted just enough, and the lactic weirdness is actually flattering to the complexion of this one, but from a technical standpoint, the beer is way too wheaty and thick and heavy and flat to be refreshing like the style should be, and the lacto souring isnt near clean enough for this to fit what i look for in more expertly done examples of the style, except that i cant hate on it at all because i like the way it tastes so much. the boysenberry is sweet and jammy, but has some tartness of its own, and the wheat makes it taste and feel almost creamy, like richer and bigger, but without really adding any sweetness. awesome. i wish it had just a little less body and some better carbonation, because then it would be tip top, the fruit in here is excellent and i like the way the salt brings it out. not just a summer beer either at this size and depth, which i also like it about it. these guys have taken some major strides forward lately!
