a pretty basic alt/amber type here, a little sweeter than i generally like them, but with a lot of good malt flavor to it, both nutty and earthy and toasted, and also sweet and concentrated and caramelized, sort of the best of both red worlds in its build, but i wish it was a little drier, and i want it to have more carbonation than it does, which has been a theme the last few times i have drank beers in here, they have got to scale that up a bit across the board. toasted almond and toffee in the flavor, some european breadiness to the malt somewhere, honey and maple nuance, and just barely a bitter hop at the end, trying to help it finish up a little more promptly, but there is a lot of linger on this one. a pretty sturdy body on it too which is nice, and a little more yeast flavor than a lot of their beers have, maybe just more flattering in this style, at least to me anyway. i could drink a few pints of this before the sugars get to be too much, a well made beer, more fall than spring in many ways, but red beer is sort of always appropriate. good not great.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
