Purchased in Liberia, CR and consumed in Playa Grande. The beer has a definite blueberry aroma, but it is almost like a syrup character. It overpowers the rest of the smell, though some bready malt can be detected. Taste is thin and mostly artificial blueberry. This isnt a bad taste, and goes rather well with a hot night. However, in terms of a beer, there isnt much depth here. Not a bad beer, but pretty one-note, which is also probably intentional. Worth a shot here in CR.

a wheat beer with blueberries, picked up from a little supermarket as a single in la fortuna, enjoyed looking out at arenal volcano, hard to imagine a better setting in which to try a beer! its lightly violet colored in the pour, some sediment in the bottle, but a nice lively head, obviously stained a little from the fruit. the nose is sweet blueberry, almost like the blueberry syrup you put on pancakes, i would imagine an extract or concentrate was used rather than the whole fruit, it just has that sweetness to it. the wheat malt is light and bright in this, but it can be appreciated in the taste, cerealy and dry, thankfully, because the blueberries are very sweet. while they dont quite taste artificial to me, they do taste a little cheap, sweet, and over done, they take over the taste half way though and the beer is all blueberry in the finish. almost like a shocktop version or something, its over flavored and not as crafty feeling to me as the best beers we had in costa rica, but its is super carbonated and easy drinking sill, i just think the blueberry flavor, for not being real authentic to the fruit, is over the top. still, a cold and bubbly craft beer with the view like i had to enjoy it was pretty special. i liked their other fruit beer, lagarta, with passion fruit and dragon fruit a little better...

perhaps the worst Wheat beer I've ever tried. How do I get rid of the after taste?
