Dark to black with a pleasant roasted barley flavor drank a soft creamy when slipping in the throat has the oatmeal, but unfortunately almost no bitter tone which takes a whole lot of points

Not a bad oatmeal stout from my homecountry but it stays way behind the other ones...

Got this one at the Duvel guy down the road.
From a bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: A clear, light brown pour yields a three finger, looser, foamy, light brown head with decent retention. Clear bistre brown body with higher levels of carbonation. Far too light and clear for the style. Head fades to a foamy cap and leaves some decent looking foamy lacing down the glass. Unfortunately this is just too light in color to be appealing.
SMELL: Powdery cocoa, leather, lightly roasted aromas with some sweet cream notes. Okay here.
TASTE: Oddly sweet with plenty of sweet cream up front. Some cocoa up front as well, with cream and caramel sweetness through the swallow. Bold finish of leather, cocoa, some roasted flavors and plenty of sweet cream. Plenty sweet and lacks some of the roasted stuff I always look forward too.
PALATE: Slightly thinner body with a touch higher levels of carbonation. Creamy on the palate, smooth from the oats, goes down fine and finishes a touch dry.
OVERALL: This is an okay beer, but it kind of lacked a bit in the stout qualities that I look for. The look is far too light and the feel much too thin for the style. While the flavor and aroma are nice, I usually prefer more roasted and chocolate characters over the caramel and cream that this one focused on. The lighter color kind of prepared me for this actually. A nice beer, but not a satisfying stout in my book.
