This blend of ten different malts creates an unsurpassed richness and complexity. We start with a premium Pale Ale base malt that gives a soft, clean maltiness. We add specialty malts like Black Malt, Crystal, Bonlander Munich, and Breiss Special Roast, layering in the malt flavors – roastiness, caramel, chocolate, and coffee. Flaked barley adds a full body of extraordinary creaminess. The flavor is balanced with the mellow sweetness of milk sugar and a hint of smooth Fuggle hop bitterness. The aroma is malt- forward, with a whisper of herbaceous hops and a touch of mint.

Opaque while still definitively brown. Hardly any head or carbonation. Smell seems maybe a bit too sweet, like ice cream, but you can still smell some malt complexion. Flavor doesn't remind me much of most milk stouts I've had, though; very malty and even a little bitter, without a lot of sweetness to balance. Drinks smooth and easy, though. Decent offering, but I wouldn't clamor for it.

On-tap at Gibb's Hundred Brewing Co., Greensboro, NC
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a half finger high beige head that died down, leaving a short head covering the surface and lots of lacy rings of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lactose are present in the nose along with hints of dark malt.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts as well as some hints of lactose.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a very nice appearance. The taste doesn't have as much lactose and sweetness compared to some of the other beers in the style, but it is still interesting and very drinkable.
