Poured from a can into one of my various IPA glasses. A nice two inch head and an amber brew. The carbonation is visible but light. Nice lacing on the drink down. this delivers a lot of flavor for a 4% ABV. Easy to get fresh as this is a local brewery. This seems to have made Gibbs regular lineup. It reminds me a lot of the slightly higher ABV ESB in terms of taste. They are calling it an English Dark Mild but it seems like a classic bitter to me.

A: Pours a clear medium golden amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate golden yellow + burnt orange colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy light beige head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of toasted + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness and very light aromas of earthy + herbal hops. Light aromas of very lightly fruity (green apple + pear) yeast.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted + grainy malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly heavier than light flavors of very lightly fruity (green apple + pear) yeast. Very light flavors of earthy + herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly leaving a relatively clean finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a fairly clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol, enjoyable, and sessionable. Malty but with just enough hop presence to balance out the sweetness.
