Black. Nose is pretty gentle. Malt. Bourbon. Not much of either.
Black Venom saves the balls for the palate. There’s bourbon here but the star of the show is the barrel, bringing full char & cindered oak. In addition there is a low, earthy blast of roast, molasses, with a boozy flow bringing up the rear. A session stout.
Really interesting; I don’t know if I’ve had a barrel aged stout with this much char in it before, & I like it. Really good brew.
