2017 on tap @ Brewery.
Pours with beautiful crown of Carmel Nugget Head, retention that stands. Crystal clean body, embody depth of malt and character. Flashes bright embers of spice, like pepper from yeast and aging. Full bodied, balanced and deceptive, low alcohol notes even though it’s 15% in perfect harmony with a dry, vinous finish from roast.
Best of show quality and a beer thats among the very best Imperial Stouts I’ve ever had the pleasure to indulge in. Thank you Seth and Mark @ Copperhead for extraordinary work in craft brewing!

2019 version at 15% abv
Big fruity coffee, roasty, dark malts, fruity yeast esters, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, warming
Much better than my memory of the 2017 vintage

Pours a pitch black color with a thin foamy head. Retention is minimal. Lacing is good. Aroma of deeply roasted malts, dark chocolate, mild spices and mild java. Tastes like dark chocolate and java melted. Very creamy. Very roasty with some spices at the end. Well done!!

3/13/21 - 2019 bottle.
Pour is black with an excellent cap of deep cinnamon head. Excellent retention, especially for the high ABV.
Nose is rich dark. Fudgy chocolate. Coffee.
Taste follows. Huge notes of dark chocolate, freshly roasted, earthy coffee, chocolate covered espresso beans, hint of vanilla.
Thick, creamy body. Could do with a bit lower carbonation,
Though.
