DATE: April 22, 2023... OCCASION: the first grass cutting of the year, I am ready to dig into this sought-after GF brew, courtesy of Shangy's... pours a murky, almost sallow yellow body that allows an off-white ring to cling to its glass... not much to look at, but nothin detracting either... a nice aroma arrests, with grapefruit, tangerine, orange, and berries putting a fruit basket into the bark of a resinous pine... as with other GF offerings, little backend suggested sans malts--but no funky or off-putting aromas either... biting, sharp, rattling introduction to the teeth, this possesses a pleasant mouthfeel that agrees with its 6.7% ABV... its finish is equally active, with an OJ acidity coating the throat, affording a lingering aftertaste... however, not much of the "pillowy softness" that this style embodies... this has a distinct, rich profile, proud of its citrus and resin, with berries and herbal textures as well, making this a bright, punchy version of the NEIPA world... I would definitely have this again, though driving to Pennsylvania for it makes that an immoderate proposition...

12oz can into a pint glass. Appears to have been canned in May 2022, so say 3 months old.
Looks okay, hazy dull orange juice body. Loose foamy white head shrinks to a fat collar and covering, scattered lacing.
Some fruit on the nose, and a bit musty.
On tasting, strong grapefruit bitterness.
Mouth above medium, but the sharp bitterness is long lasting in the finish, and a little drying.
Overall, decent drink, though not without it's faults. Gluten free beer, and a good choice for people who have those issues.
