Boy oh boy, what a fantastic, juicy DIPA. Head cavingly delicious with ZERO gagging from bitter aftertaste of hops. This beer demands big slurps for the full mouthful effect - not a timid sipping, meandering beer. Mouthful=full taste profile. Poured from a can that sat in the freezer for 20 minutes, into a tulip glass. Nice opaque, hazy colour with an easily two and a half finger width white, frothy head. Head dissaptes rather quickly but, 15 or so minutes later, as I nurse and savour this DIPA with big, purposeful mouthfuls, there's a nice, sticky foam sill clinging to the sides of the glass. Great hop taste plus a nice, sweet citrus element gives this a smashing wet, juicy (to me) taste profile. Great fun to pour then smell and admire in the glass, but way more fulfilling to get on with it and swallow her down with joyful gulps. Top shelf stuff, will buy again (and again).

Hazy, Amber pour with a nice head, not a lot of retention, but it leaves a nice lace.

Nice hop aroma, right out of the can. Still not overpowering, but nice.

Taste is obviously hop forward, but there's a nice toffee-like sweetness from the malt, along with a restrained bitterness. Remarkable balance for a brew this strong, yet it really is about the hops. Tons of tangerine and nectarine, with an underlying piny resin and hints of candied pineapple and mango.

Moderate body has a slightly drying alcohol finish.

I appreciate the reasonable serving size, but I want more!

Thanks Yardsale!

I love the colour and the nose is outstanding! Fresh citrus notes with a hint of booze.

Very nice beer. The only flaw is it's a little too boozy. But overall it's a great beer.

Pours a pale hazy orange with a nice fluffy white collar. Minimal retention and almost no lacing. A tropical nose followed by a juicy citrus taste that has a citrus bite. Long finish with hints of bitter sweet. Coats the palate a little but quite smooth.

355ml can - it's been a while since we last saw anything new from this outfit. Their IPA clocked in at 7%, so having a DIPA at 8.5% seems weirdly low.

This beer pours a hazy, medium copper amber colour, with two chubby fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy ecru head, which leaves some sudsy rainforest treetop lace around the glass as it gently subsides.

It smells of bready and doughy caramel malt, a twinge of biscuity toffee, some chalky flintiness, a muddled citrus rind acerbity, ethereal earthy yeast, and more leafy, piney, and perfumed floral hop bitterness. The taste is grainy, semi-sweet caramel/toffee malt, orange cream, lemon tarts, stale grapefruit juice, a retreating plain Pez candy thing, and more zesty piney, leafy, and floral hoppiness - the alcohol sort of hovering at a safe distance.

The bubbles are fairly tame in their mostly perfunctory, yet sometimes come hither frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and generally smooth, as only a wee piney and citrus vodka astringency tries to mess things up here. It finishes off-dry, the robust malt and the fruitiness of the otherwise bitter hops going a long way in support of that.

Overall, not too shabby a version of the style, as a pleasant detente in the typical war of palatal attrition is more or less achieved by the brewer here, I would proffer. Maybe a touch too much heat exists for an ABV that falls in the upper middle range of expectation, but the whole doesn't really suffer from it. Good stuff.
