Beautiful rich golden colour. Very vibrant and crisp and clear. Small white head that dissipates leaving a light dusting of bubbles.
Nose is generally pretty light. Some clean malts somewhere in the crystal/honey range. Some light floral/grassiness from the hops. Maybe a touch of earthy spice from the rye. But that's pretty faint.
Flavour leads in with a classic lager profile up front, fairly light, and then you get some sweetness and that not-quite-sour flavour that fermented honey imparts. The finish is dull earthy bitterness with a nice little backdrop of light honey sweetness that is as much an impression as it is a flavour.
Nice spritzy carbonation, and easy drinking. I could see knocking a couple of these back on a sunny day. Maybe a bit thin at points, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as that works well enough in the style and intention.
Overall I dig it. A good light spring/summer option.
