Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Minimal head creation, a faint light mocha to tan color with fine bubbles. Settles to a barely half finger top, on a simple dark mahogany brown body. Some clarity through the top.
Very nice coffee aroma. Hits more towards a bit of milky sweetness of evaporated milk, perhaps addition of lactose present giving that quality. Creamy sensing, but also quite sweet smelling. Minimal sensing roasty or char malt base though, but a very inviting aroma.
Palate seems to take a bit more of a different direction. Very light bodied with hints of minimal coffee flavor. Some dry grains but also a touch of mild sourness and a bit of only light roast. Surprisingly more milk stout but barely in flavor with a hint of cream texture and palate. Finishes a bit sweet surprisingly.
This comes off more of as a light bodied milk stout, with a solid coffee aroma but not in the palate. Drinkable but relatively weak and ordinary.

Poured from a bomber bottle into a tulip glass. Pours pitch black with a small light brown head. Smells of coffee, very inviting. Tastes of coffee with some grapes, a tad tart. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, a little undercarbonated. Overall, a slightly above average beer.

Huge dark roasted coffee aroma that follows up in the flavor with just a hint of green pepper. Dark chocolate runs in the background. A touch sweet at first, then it balances out. Overall and excellent coffee beer if you like a heavy roast.

Given the name of the brew, a very disappointing stout. Light mouthfeel, lacking the weight I expected from an expresso stout. Not as dry as I had hoped and almost a sweet back-end. Overall, a mediocre beer. It would be a solid beer to drink with a meal, perhaps, but as a stand-alone stout, it missed the mark.
