Poured from the can into a tulip glass.
Beaming dark brass yellow with a deep orange shine. Very nice clarity with lots of random carbonation throughout the glass. Head is frothy white and lathers a good solid three fingers. Some decent retention too. Solid looking tripel.
Aroma is not so bad either. Touches a little bit of Belgian candi sweetness, but sticks to a more malt forward approach. Hits with some whisps of soft caramel, but also some peanut butter like nut flavor gets in there also which seems out of place. Some nice scents of sweet herbs of mint and floral touches as well.
Palate seems to continue the trend. Solid mouthfeel, but hints a hair of fizzy character but not too much. Definitely getting a peanut butter sweetness on this mixed in with a big dense yeast, and light sugars. Finishes with a bit of a solid fruity ester, and a bit of more classic Belgian sweetness associated with a tripel.
Not bad, if some bit of odd malt contrasts I think. Passable tripel.
