look: frothy white head with lots of lacing, amber to brown beer, quite hazy, some bubbles rising through the glass.
smell: not sure what’s going on here, first scent i got was a clove-like spice, some bready malt there, very little hoppy fruity smells coming through, maybe a touch of sweetness.
taste: the malt is what dominates, its earthy and busicuity and bready, just a hint of sweetness at first but that quickly fades, actually quite a good kick of hop bitterness on the finish but the flavours aren’t really there, very metallic.
feel: medium bodied, light to medium carbonation, quite dry.
overall: strange beer, bit all over the place, but still not bad, but not st. mel’s best work.

Dry hopped and bottle conditioned. Nice hoppiness, a bit soft, but clean and well made. Nice to see the explosion of craft brewing around the country, particularly in places that til now have had almost nothing. A solid beer, and nicely satisfied .
