I visited Hammerton while in London a few weeks back. It’s a fairly sizeable looking brewery with an industrial yet pub-like taproom with a good about of picnic table style seating inside. It’s just got a good vibe with stacks of beer barrels aging away and the whole brewhouse visible from the taproom. There’s a pizza joint inside, though I didn’t have any pizza on this occasion. The bartenders were busy (Champions League was on the telly) but were efficient and I never had to wait too long. They were friendly as well, although one of them looked at me like I was an alien when I asked if they happened to have stickers available. Heh.
Numerically, there’s quite a wide selection at Hammerton, though with a particular focus on hops (pale ale / IPA) and stouts (mainly of the sweet variety). I counted 17 beers on tap (plus a cider), with styles including several IPAs, pilsner, 2 DDH pales, hazy pale, an NA pale ale (!), mango apricot gose, chocolate stout, nitro stout, milk stout, chocolate salted caramel stout, chocolate vanilla sundae stout, black forest gateau stout, and a Japanese rice lager. I was only able to have a couple on my visit — a NZ session IPA and a hazy IPA — but I thought the quality was pretty good.
