750ml bottle shared with brothers-in-law Chris and Dan. Served fairly cold into glasses.
Appearance - pours a dark reddish brown color with sufficient haze to muddy the beer. A small white topping of froth is poured, lingers for a short duration then expires.
Smell - champagne, white white and cranberries predominately. Rather delicate and no trace of a big boozy nose.
Taste - like the nose mostly. Champagne like characteristics. White wine and even more cranberries. Possibly some herbs mixed in. Very tasty and hard to believe this is 11% ABV.
Mouthfeel - smooth and light with good carbonation, but flattens out a bit too much by mid glass. Body is really light for this big of a beer.
Overall - a worthy treat in a new and interesting style. Very glad to have tried this and can see purchasing a bottle to share with friends. Good to see a new and uncommon style making its way to Ontario.
